LOOKING FORWARD TO THE END N START
I'm now in Tulum's Chilam Balam Hotel. The other EMs are partying in the rooms the other side. I just skyped w parents. Yawning non-stop now, but gotta head back over there for a bit. Going cenote diving tomorrow. Hope it's still on. I just feel like pooping n sleeping. 5 more nights on base and we break expedition! =) As you can tell, i'm glad. Can't wait to eat proper food, as well as some Asian food, get decent showers n toilets. Get away from the mozzies. Continue w my travels. Go do fun dives. Watch a movie. I'm feeling homesick, or rather, home-food sick.

GOOD TO GO!
All cleared to go for expedition!!
Doing very last minute shopping. May even need to go buy a new backpack early in the morning tomorrow. Eeks!! Leaeving tomorrow afternoon and I still dunno if I've got everything i need. Still need garden gloves, spool and to photocopy loads of stuff. Now starting to panic a bit more. ARGGHHH!! I think i should go buy my backpack now... But it doesn't feel as comfy as my existing one... Oh well. not like I have much of a choice anyway.

TOMORROW
My week long of numbness in the head and slight numbness in my limbs. Well, I'll know tomorrow if there's anything wrong with my head or neck. It'll decide if i go to Mexico. YES, I AM STILL KEEN ON GOING TO MEXICO. It's just that everything medical happened at the same time. Not all a bad thing.
Kel msg me on Saturday to tell me his friend just passed away while diving in Aur. He was a sweetie and told me to take care. It's scary when u hear diving accidents/deaths, especially when it happens to people you know. Herman and now Kel's friend. Anyway, glad I'm going for the scans and all. Better to be safe than sorry. At least if i'm cleared I can go Mexico with lesser worries. =)
Backtrack a lil. Went to SGH's A&E last Monday after feeling numbness in my head for the past 4 days. Doc said migraine and sent me home. After lunch i started feeling tingly sensation in my left limbs. Went back to see the doc and they still said migraine. But since I reported new symptoms, I had to be kept for observation for 6 hours. They let my off after 4 hours though. Still didn't feel 100% after 3 days. Thursday started feeling lump on left side of head. Weird... Friday went to see a neuro and today went for MRI scan for head and neck. Gonna see doc to review scans tomorrow. In the midst of all these, we moved out of our house. Landed up sleeping most of the week. Been at Downtown East chalet for a week now. It's surprisingly relaxing and feels even more like a holiday than my holiday to Penang. =)

Gynae check-up again this Monday. Hope everything's fine. Then I'll leave for Mexico Friday/Saturday. It's been delayed for so long. Missed the Marine Turtle Festival. Not a big deal as long as my scan turns out fine and i can go with more ease.

SUDDEN & UNPREDICTABLE - LIFE
Just found out today that the instructor who took me for my scuba refresher course early this year just passed away. It's all so sudden. He surfaced from a dive in Aur and had difficulty breathing. Although I don't know him well, his death has still come as a shock.

THEY CAME AND THEY LEFT
F1 weekend came and whizzed past, like all the cars. Disappointing 2nd year again. Results not quite what I had hoped. Sucks to the core. Last year a cheating Alonso, this year a cocky Hamilton. Not to mention that Button ended up in front of Barrichello. Maybe I should boycott the Singapore GP. =p Luckily my F1 experience was salvaged by the Backstreet Boys!!! They're so good!! The concert was FANTASTIC!!!
Anyway, went to Kor's house today. It's huge!!! Only a lil smaller than Jazzy's place i think. Had steamboat to celebrate the kiddos' birthdays. Midautumn was so-so. Pictures soon!

AND SO H1N1 CONTINUES...
Arghhh!! Just read from the CNA website that Mexico has a new outbreak of H1N1 cases. Over 1,300 new cases over the last 3 days!! =( This is not good... Gotta buy insurance soon, in case of trip cancellation or something. =( Hope parents dun stop me from going, not like they can if I really want to... Oh man oh man oh man!! =(
Last day of work yesterday!! Finally said good riddance to SBF. Looking back, why the heck did I stay there so long??!! Anyway, glad I'm out of there, even though I'm jobless now. Hahaha!! Instead of being able to celebrate a bit yesterday, dinner was a total disappointment. It was cold food with hot soup. So why couldn't everything have been hot? What's the point of steaming it then eating it when it's all cold again? Might as well dun steam in the first place right?
Going for Grace's wedding later tonight. Finally the day is here. Hope the dinner and company is nice. Can't help thinking of Pauline in Bali, enjoying seeing all the fabulous macro stuff, plus mantas and mola molas... Diving haven...

WHAT'S IN STORE?
Heading to Mexico in like 5 weeks time for the GVI Marine Conservation Expedition. Dunno which base I'll be at but I think it's the Pez Maya one. Haven't planned my travel itinerary for 3 weeks before though I'll be lugging my dive bag around so I hafta think and plan carefully. But if I head to Tulum for the marine turtle festival, maybe I could ask the group to help me bring it to the island first? That will make my life easier for the following 2 weeks or so till the program starts.
Luckily there's Pauline's friend, Gyneth who went on the 10 week program. So I can clear any doubts I have with her. Though at the moment, I can't quite think of much to ask her. There's Maki too, who's lived in South America for 4 years.
Anyway, gonna watch "The Cove", a documentary on the brutal killing of dolphins in this place in Japan. =( I so think I'm gonna cry. Let you know later! A lil bit of researching before i zzzz...

I GOT A NEW ROOF OVER MY HEAD!
Haven't blogged that we found a flat already. Like 2 weeks back? It's in Hougang, 3 blocks from nutty cousins and opposite block from Spencer. Went to see it for the first time yesterday, since I didn't go view it initially when my parents decided to buy it. It's nice and big for the 3 of us. Mummy & daddy giving me master bedroom. Oh well. My room's an 'L' shape and I dunno what to do with the shorter part of the L. Hafta slowly think and decide. Anyhow, gonna do quite a bit of reno in the kitchen coz we absolutely dun like how it is now. Toilets to be redone.
Headed to Chomp Chomp for dinner. Haven't been there for so long that we gobbled everything that was placed on our table. Or lua, hokkien mee, char kway teow, sambal sting ray and bbq chicken wings. YES!!! I FINALLY GOT TO EAT MY BBQ CHICKEN WINGS!! Went home really happy. =)

Just had my dinner for yesterday at midnigh today. Whatdid I eat? Tom yum instant noodles on a Saturday night. WTF WTF WTF??!?!?!??!?!?!
Event: Princess's birthday BBQ at her condo
Time: Apparently we went too late, coz the charcoal ran out and the only food left was cold rice, otah, corn, sweet potato, salmon (i dun eat), a few sticks of satay, ketuput.
WHAT KIND OF BBQ DUN HAVE ENOUGH FOOD??? NO MEAT, NO SEAFOOD???!!! I FEEL HAPPIER EATING A BURGER FROM MACS OR SOME FAST FOOD OUTLET!!! 20 PC NUGGETS ALSO GOOD!!
Waste my time, waste my money buy her birthday gift and a bottle of vodka. Best part, Princess earns A LOT of money. But drinks (alcohol) were BYO! It was an absolute mistake to go. Luckily the only redeeming factor was the company. Haiz... this goes into history as the WORST EVER BBQ/PARTY!!!

Japan is a huge fashion industry and I personally think it is great that their concept of a new age national costume is something different for a change! Emiri is beautiful and she can carry this look very well. I look forward to meeting her next week!
Ermm.... Tt's what Miss Singapore 2009, Rachel Kum had to say about this dress that Miss Japan was gonna wear for the National Costume segment of Miss Universe 2009. Hey come on, dun disgrace us before the competition's even started. I hate to agree with the conservative Japanese but how can this dress be suitable for a Miss Universe NATIONAL COSTUME segment? Runway modelling u'll get away with this and yes, fashionistas would love it. She looks like she's trying to make it into the AV charts for Japanese porn or something. This is truely a national disgrace. Eeks!! So's our Miss Singapore...
